Davide Cerullo, “Visages de Scampia”
- Photographs by Davide Cerullo
- Drawings and photographs by Ernest Pignon-Ernest
- Exhibition - sale from May 25 to June 16, 2018
In 2015, the artist Ernest Pignon-Ernest wanted to extend to Naples the journey of his project « Se torno » (Si je reviens) which had led him to paste on the walls of Rome and Matera the image of a stern-looking Pasolini carrying his own lifeless body in his arms.
David Cerullo, a local child with a history of crime, will open the walls of Scampia to him, working-class suburb of Naples in which Pignon-Ernest sees a Pasolinian universe of today. The latter then discovers the photographic work of Cerullo, who has been capturing the life of the neighborhood and its inhabitants for around ten years.
