Scampia - 04

In 2015, the artist Ernest Pignon-Ernest wanted to extend to Naples the journey of his project "Se torno" ( If I come back ) which had led him to paste on the walls of Rome and Matera the image of a stern-looking Pasolini carrying his own lifeless body in his arms.

Davide Cerullo , a child of the neighborhood who has been involved in crime, will open the walls of Scampia to him, a working-class suburb of Naples in which Pignon-Ernest sees a Pasolinian universe of today. The latter then discovers the photographic work of Cerullo, who has been capturing the life of the neighborhood and its inhabitants for about ten years.
