"Beckett is the writer I have painted and drawn the most. It has even become an obsession. His face fascinates me. I see a kind of mystery in it, I scrutinize the wrinkles, the marks; it is as if time had begun to tell everything he had thought and lived." Tullio Pericoli
"Like all great portraitists - wrote Umberto Eco - Pericoli is in search of the soul of his model; in drawing his face, he draws a thought, a vision of the world: he seeks to make visible a poetic style, a story."
