“I read everything I could, I loved French culture and literature.” Patti Smith

Literature is at the heart of Patti Smith's life. It has shaped her personality as a woman, an artist and a writer. In her autobiographical books Just Kids And M Train , she discusses the readings that have marked her life, and first and foremost the works of Arthur Rimbaud, Jean Genet and Albert Camus. On the occasion of the publication of the illustrated edition of Just Kids , the Galerie Gallimard is offering a temporary exhibition illustrating the special connection that Patti Smith has with this sacred literary trilogy, as well as with other authors revealed to French readers by Éditions Gallimard.

The exhibition, which opened on the anniversary of Arthur Rimbaud's death, presents a selection of original, unpublished pieces from the publisher's historical archives and linked to the world of Patti Smith and her memories.
